Coraggio Long Ez – Chapter 0 – The project as we picked it up from the previous builder.

September 21, 2007 – The project as it was purchased from the previous builder.

This is how we picked up the Long Ez from the previous builder on September 21, 2007. Anyone who wants to build a Long Ez may be well served by looking for partially completed projects online or through your local EAA Chapter. Buyer beware! If you are going to do this, you should have intimate knowledge of the plans before you inspect a project. Even better yet is to get in contact with another canard builder and see if they can help you to determine the build quality of a project you are looking at.

Luckily, my building partner at the time, Marty, was familiar with this project and its builder. Marty had previously built a Vari Ez, so his opinion on the project was enough for me.

When I got the project home, I couldn’t resist the temptation to make it look as much like a flying airplane as possible, get in, and make airplane noises. This is a premonition of many events to come, as I have frequently ‘made airplane noises’ when the project reaches a milestone.
